Irish too much for Titans

Cathedral 42 Tech 14

Don't let Cathedral's  record fool you they have played some of the State and Midwest's best high school football teams. The class 4A #4 Irish (4-4) blew by the host Titans (5-2) as they raced to a 42-0 halftime lead never looking back. The Irish were lead by senior running back Gino Gillum's 112 yards and Conner Rice's 104 yards passing. The Titans were lead by sophomore running back James Gilbert's 147 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

The Good
Cathedrals looks to be hitting stride in all phases. Their schedule strength helps prepare them for this part of the season. Look for them to make another run for the 4A State Title.

The Bad
The Titans 5-2 record though good, but deceptive, because their strength of schedule ranks very low and were simply outplayed from the opening kickoff. Sophomore running back James Gilbert has a very bright future if he continues to improve.

From My Perspective
Cathedral is a premier football program and Tech is an up and coming football program. In order to be considered on of the best teams you must play  and compete with the best teams. From my seat Tech needs to schedule teams that are truly going to test them each week. Cathedral plays the best of the best and it shows when the playoffs roll around.

Next Week:
Tech will host 3A #2 Bishop Chatard (7-1)
Cathedral will host National Power Cincinnati Moeller
