Game Changers

Still trying to break the color barrier!

In a field where 100% of conference commissioners and 84% of athletic directors are white men, it's no wonder why the hiring of quality black coaches who are head coach material is still an issue. As it stands today 17 FBS head coaches are minorities out of 120 programs (20%)!!!!!! Here are 6 that are breaking down the walls and doing a great job as leaders of their football programs.

Indy native and Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin

Eastern Michigan's Ron English

Vanderbilt's James Franklin

UVA's Mike London

Louisville's Charlie Strong

Purdue Football's new leader Darerell Hazzell

Now let's see who next in line to help break down the barriers or does the plantation mentality still rule college football as the recycled coaches like Bobby Petrino, Gene Chizik, reappear while Randy Shannon, John Embree, Tyrone Willingham, Ron Prince don't get second chances and waddle in obscurity as assistants!!
