After a high school playing career at Indy power Warren Central in which Evans gained a monstrous 2,731 yards and 61 touchdowns his senior season and culminated in being awarded Mr. Football in 2006 he then took his talents to Virginia Tech where in 2008 he broke the school single game rushing record rushing with 253 yards against Maryland. Evans is also the only player in Viginia Tech's school history to rush for a touchdown during each of his first 6 games. In the 2009 Orange Bowl Evans was named MVP after gaining 153 yards on 28 carries and scoring the game clinching touchdown against Nebraska.
Currently Evans is battling a crowded Indianapolis Colts backfield in search of playing time. Surprisingly undrafted in 2011 Evans is trying to make a name for himself as a back who can and will get the tough yards.
The 6'0 227 Evans possess the rare combination of speed and power needed to be a successful back in the NFL. Evans is preparing to make the most of his opportunity.
